Introducing CoMorMent’s Stakeholder Forum
CoMorMent’s Stakeholder Forum brings together people with personal experience and backgrounds in healthcare, research, government policy, industry and the third sector to give input on our research on mental health and cardiovascular disease. It currently includes 13 individuals from across Europe, representing Norway, Iceland, Estonia, Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark and the UK.
The Stakeholder Forum officially met for the first time in March 2021. Among other things, they discussed the role they would have in communicating CoMorMent findings in a clear manner, and directing the project in ways that will make the biggest difference in “real life”, for example by focusing on the whole person and removing “silos” in approaches to treatment and support.
The group highlighted the importance of translating the findings from scientific output into solutions that help patients in day-to-day life. This is something that CoMorMent researchers in e.g. Edinburgh also are looking to expand upon in the near future. The next stakeholder forum meeting will be held in October 2021 and will focus more closely on this goal.
